Hello and a very warm welcome to my website

Almost everyone experiences difficulties and challenges in their lives. It may be a relationship that isn’t working, it may be a work situation that seems unbearable. Money worries can make us feel trapped and traumatic situations from our past can stop us from living the life we dream of living. As a counsellor I will listen to you without judgement or agenda and help you establish what’s right for you. Confiding in friends and family doesn’t always solve the problem because people who care about us don’t like seeing us in pain – that’s why their advice cannot be non-judgemental.

Am I the Perfect Counsellor for you?

I am trained to identify emotional and behavioural patterns that prevent you from achieving what is right for you. If you have any questions or queries then, of course, contact me. Admitting to yourself that help is needed is the first step in your recovery. Everyone loses their way sometime, whether it’s through an affair, that wasn’t meant to happen or through drink or drugs; it may be your unconventional upbringing which is causing you to feel side-lined and lonely or a phobia that has tortured you for most of your life. Who to turn to? As an independent, confidential counsellor I can offer you a space where you can share your thoughts without judgement.

Together we can explore issues that may be causing you confusion and pain.

By listening to you I can offer you different perspectives on your situation which may empower you to find the strength to move forward. Sometimes it can be easy to see where we have gone wrong but unless we speak to someone and are honest about our own feelings nothing will ever change. If we always do what we always do, we will always get what we always get. Sometimes changing the way, we do things is necessary. Although I can’t do the changes for you, I can help you and assist you while you make small steps.

I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I adhere to their guidelines and ethical framework. I draw on psychodynamic, humanistic and systemic theories in order to look at your past, present and the way you interact and relate to others. Occasionally, if a quick shift is required, I may use CBT to change negative thinking patterns.

I work on a 1:1 basis in a calm and relaxed therapy room. I have a warm and empathic approach and I will not judge or criticise you or tell you what to do. What you tell me remains confidential. My experience includes working as a school counsellor in two comprehensive schools in Essex, working for a children’s charity and in private practice with couples and individuals. I have a particular interest in couple counselling (including pre-wedding counselling), childhood abuse and anger management but am also experienced in working with a range of other difficulties including, depression, parenting and family issues, stress, affairs and betrayal, divorce and separation, work related issues, lack of confidence and self-esteem, and shame and guilt.
